This week, we want you to create the flight animation of a character with a mountable or wearable flying machine such as a jetpack, jetman or artificial wings. The character must be seen, so no airplanes with a cabin or cockpit. You can be creative about it and draw something completely unusual, the sky is the limit.

Engineer, you are given following order:

Design a weapon that has the ability to hit a grain of sand on the other side of the earth. The weapon has to be small and light enough to be manned and carried by a group of two. Cost doesn't matter, you are given every material you can imagine. Now go and pixel that weapon!

This week, we want you to create the inseparable duo of video games: the sprite AND the portrait of the same character or monster. The game genre and the perspective of the sprite is entirely up to you. You can use a border for the portrait. You must separate them from eacother by transparency.

Rick Nelson seems to like garden parties and so do I. Sitting down with some friends, eating good food and drinking a few beers is an evening well spend.

This week, we are doing a follow up to this classical weekly challenge. So, we want you to draw an RPG party that consists of exactly 4 sprites, depicting 4 different classes. These classes should be chosen between these, albeit with whatever twists you might dream of:

  • The ranger
  • The bard
  • The paladin
  • The barbarian
  • The necromancer
  • The pet/creature

You must separate sprites from eachother in your canvas using transparency, yet slight overlays for the sake of composition is permitted. Please clearly mention in your description which characters are in your party. And remember: you can make a ww2 team or 50s gangsters as well as classical high fantasy themed party.

Canvas Size - Max 200 x 200.
Colours - Max 32. Including transparency.

Has it ever happened to you? Playing with your trusty old NES and suddenly...screen flickering, frames tearing and artifacts all over the place.

PJer and former challenge winner SnugBoat wants you to create "glitch art" which is basically art that looks like the computer screen has crashed or something went wrong with the graphics card.

PJs next isometric collaboration has begun on the forum.
Our subject this time around is prehistoria! This includes everything prehistoric or, well, ancient. Stone age people, tribal people, dinosaurs (and all beasts of old times), hunting/gathering, evolution, ancient buildings, towns & wonders, lost civilizations, cave life, ancient monsters, ancient aliens and any other kind of fantasy element, as long as you can say this existed in our dark ages.

Eleven artists took part in the teamwork competition, for which the participants had to submit line art, and then had to finish someone elses line art to which they were randomly assigned!

This competition was judged by PJ members and moderators: Cyangmou, Jinn, Dawnbringer, slym, skeddles, skamocore, pyrometal, Mandrill and myself (Hapiel)

The winners:

First place goes to Jeremy (lines) and Arkan85 (colors)

Second place goes to Nevercreature (lines) and Jeremy (colors)

Third place goes to jackhummer (lines) and JerryPie (colors)

All of the other particicpants receive a participation trophy, check them out here!

Picture youself in a white room without any objects in it. You begin to look at the walls around you not being able to see any significant details. Suddenly you feel like you and everything starts moving! Weird colours begin to flash brightly und the ground is shaking more and more with every second that passes.

Then.... boom! A loud noise and the room looks exactly like when you first stepped into it; white walls, clean and silent. However, you notice a weird object in the center of the room. Pixel that object!

Ob's stürmt oder schneit...

There's certainly some kind of fascination for these huge machines that move across the battlefield striking fear and terror into the enemy's hearts.

This week I want you to pixel a tiny tank that is more than capable of ruling the battlefield. You can pixel any tank or self-propelled gun you want, just make sure it has tracks and looks cool!

Insects! They are everywhere.

They bite, sting, scratch or simply run over a surface letting you know that you should really dust off your living room.

This week I want you to pixel some sort of insect, but It doesn't have to be an existing species. You can go crazy and create your very own critter.

In the year 2525.....

Evolution is fine, but wouldn't it be the ultimate goal to become a perfect organism that does not age and die? However, as we are trapped in out meaty bodies there's just no way this is ever going to happen.

But what if we just could plant our consciousness into a machine?

This week I want you to pixel a portrait of yourself or any other human being as a robot! The shinier the better.

There is a countless number of species on this planet. In fact, science manages to discover new species every day.

Of all the creatures on this planet almost none is as loved and hated by so many people as felines!

This week I want you to pixel some sort of cat. Pets, tigers, lions or even things that are named after cats; everything goes.
