You will need 3D RED/BLUE glases to see the effect working.

This hasn't really worked very well. I copied the outline of the character twice -a red outline and a blue outline, then shifted them over the original drawing and re pixelled, taking the colours made when it is overlayed.

Creating this effect manually was fiddly and I don't thnk the effort is worth it as it takes a toll on your eyes which isn't healthy. Here is what I had to play with manually:

Tested it with old school 3D glasses. I tested it with 3D "cinema" glasses but it didn't work with those for some reason.

Pro motion has a built in stereoscopic tool. I suggest using that to create these images if PJ allows it.

The letters work great, thats an achievement in itself!  I'll look forward to when you do another one. (even if it isn't sterioscopic)

@Ghostbrain: Thank you very much for the information on 3d Cinema glasses. I doubt I'll be able to get images working with those glasses anytime soon, which is a shame as they are probably more available than the red/cyan glasses.

I think that the letters work okay - but I haven't pulled it of with the actual character which is unfortunate. I've learn't a bit ore about stereoscopic images and I will attempt this again with a more simpler object, as it involves a lot more work to really get it right.

3d cinema glasses work very differently by polarizing images together, whereas red/blue ones filter two images instead.  but yea thanks for givbing me a reason to dig out my old cardboard ones :).
