CHALLENGE: Green Lantern Sprite

This July marks the 74th anniversary of the appearance of the first Green Lantern character. So, this week, create a sprite of your own non-humanoid* Green Lantern character. Also, your character design must include the Green Lantern logo somewhere.

For inspiration, here is a list of all Green Lantern Corps members.

*Avoid creating upright-standing characters that have a torso attached to two arms, two legs, and a head.

Canvas Size - Max 74 x 74.
Colours - Max 20.
Transparency - Required.
Animation - Optional.

Since you're asking for a sprite, should I refrain from creating a background?

After several attempts, I'm now here:

Having difficulty separating the claws from the body any ideas, suggestions about anything gratefully received.

Looks terrific! I think that something is missing though, I feel as if the claws are too plain. Maybe he should be holding something? Or maybe he should be in a different pose altogether (although, that might be a bad idea since the torso already looks really great).

I'm doing Salaak.

I can see the mistakes at this point, but I'm more worried about getting four arms looking right, and just can't.

Maybe tomorrow.

@drawing man, made the uppder claws larger to make them a bit more interesting.
Upped the luminance from the symbol so are and legs are reflecting a bit more light.
Having problems shading the claws and making the bottom right claw readable, I may hav to stick it out the side like the others :s

Got rid of the antennae as they were a bit fussy, but try some thicker ones if I have time to come back to it. The legs and feet are also bothering me.

I thought I will pass this challenge, but...
A nice Siamese twin-worm. They eat soil to spit any villains in their face.

Who recruited this guy? All he does is eat things!

Any ideas on what to do with that other arm, or qualms with the colors or texture?

@Pheno - it's an alien the colours and texture can be whatever you want :)
judging by the AA around the top mouthy-nose part I'm assuming the rear leg is going into purpley shadow?
It's very hard not to want a darker redder tongue, but it does look really alien and slimey well done!

My first ever submission to pixeljoint, and my first ever attempt at a challenge thread! So, after a quick doodle I came up with this:

Penelops, a green alien jellyfish thing.

Question: Can my alien jellyfish thing keep its balloon, or does it have to go?

I'm not sure that any of the green lantern corps would carry a balloon when battling interstellar/inter-dimensional villains. :p The jelly fish is a good idea, I like the way you're making most use of the canvas with the legs, gives it a bit of movement too.

I cant finish this. Not sure why I started, I've been busy at work all week and now I have to attend a wedding this weekend. Which is a shame, I love the green lantern comic books :(

I made a submission and then deleted it.

Can I submit again?

I didn't know that sprite mean't full body.

This is the original one I submitted, I'm redoing it so it is fullbody.

@pangaea, of course. You can even enter more than once even though history shows quality is better than quantity.

ps: Whenever possible, use the 'edit it' under the art to upload an edit/update instead of deleting and submitting as new.

@All, that 'ps' is for you too.

Here's what I've got, after a day's work:

I think I'm nearly done. Any last-minute critiques before I submit?
