PJ Image Specs Tool

Announcing PJs Image Spec Tool created by Blueberry_pie

Basic use is simply copy/paste the image url but you can also hit the arrows above each row of color info.

You may notice in color/palette challenges that if you use png24 files the colors will alter. I'll make a forum thread on this issue.
Any questions just post here.

It isn't there for me...

It seems that once I have posted this comment it suddenly appeared?

@SaintBonkers & jal: just plain ol' Firefox will do, no need for addons as the fix is on PJ's side, works on the spec as well (Stylish would be useful on other sites though I guess).

Super duper helpful!

@SaintBokers, we are working on the script so it does not conflict with otherparts of the site. For now:

You can use this PJer created add-on for most browsers.
http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=18023

or if you use Firefox you can use the 'Stylish' addon and use the PJ script with it.

Download 'Stylish', there should be a little 'S' symbol in the bottom left corner of your browser.  Click on that and choose: write new style > for this URL.   Then it opens a window with some code in it.  Just delete everything in there and paste the code below.  Then enable the style.

@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml);
@-moz-document domain("pixeljoint.com") {
/*Main Styles*/
img { image-rendering: -moz-crisp-edges; }
}

Thanks you, actually.

When i zoom in the pixels resize with cubic interpolation, making them blend together. Is this supposed to happen? It feels like it invalidates the entire use of the zoom feature. The same thing happens when i zoom on images here on PJ.

Am i the only one with this problem? I would really like to study people creations without having to download the image.

Thanks everyone :)

Muxaun: I wanted to add that, since the original tool by Hatch had the same feature. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to figure out how to do it, and we haven't been able to get our hands on Hatch's code. For now, I'd suggest bookmarking the JavaScript link shown on the page and clicking it when you want to inspect an image.

Eggy and others: I'm hoping to add some GIF animation features eventually, including frame count and playback control. I'm still investigating, but I think it should be possible.

I open a piece from gallery and then open the Image Spec Tool. It would have been great if the piece URI was automatically submitted to the tool in that scenario.

Eggy, look around PJ and even scroll down on pages and you'll find lots of stuff.
I will send the 'test' within 48 hours.

Fail = ban

Glad to see a new PJ specs tool available, because the previous one by Hivemind just vanished for an unknown reason so I couldn't use it :(

Can you implement animated GIF image stuff? Like how many frames the GIF image has? :)

greenraven (Level 2 Hired Gun) @ 3/25/2014 10:20
