This method is rather fidgety for advanced use. It will actually use all the pixels in the image so you can't later edit it to put a logo there, and changing colors can break things too. That's probably why StickyTape's gives issues.

 Ha, weird coincidence, I've been playing with custom QR codes in my freetime this last month... Was doing it manually with a custom template, but having a website help doing the generating will be handy. Here was one for my website that's still in the building process:
